Meditation for January 13th
Belief
As we go out in the world, we believe many things to be true without question, from the front, in a higher power, or that the hand will start blinking after the walking man at a crosswalk light. We believe something because of experience; some because other people have told us to be, and what others think, because it’s something we’ve had in our heads.
Well, stop it. Please get rid of all your beliefs because they keep you from doing anything worthwhile. Instead of believing that you can’t do something, please do it. We are stuck on this earth because everyone thinks they can’t just float out into outer space and live among the stars and planets, only to end up in the vacuum of space. Belief has tied you down to a small, worthless person. Live without belief, and you will learn to lead all the belief sheep to a better world. Start by believing anything on the Internet.
We take things for granted because we assume they will work, and we only notice them if they don’t. If you don’t believe in anything, then everything will be a surprise to you. It’s a lot more mystical if the life coming at you is without purpose, like the religious people claim, and we find ourselves wasting a lot of time rationalizing why God kills innocent children and blesses billionaire pedophiles. If you don’t believe in any purpose, we find ourselves free of anger. There is no reason!
The worst thing you can do is believe in yourself. Why do you think you are capable of anything? Especially if you have no purpose, why have faith in your little meaningless actions? If you don’t believe, and you still succeed at something, what a much bigger accomplishment! You achieved, and no one, not even you, believed; what a huge success!
When we believe in something, especially in the mysterious higher-power department, we have humanized it and therefore created something incapable of being a higher power. Stop believing, and the powers that are higher than you will multiply a thousandfold.
Prayer
Oh, Lord
I must turn my prayers away from you,
for you no longer exist,
but before I do,
give me the power not to believe in anything.
Oh, Lordy Lord Lord,
make me a nihilist.
Make me literally forget everything I know to be true.
Make my body and mind one in not falling for things that I have faith in.
I am no longer beholden to man’s mind.

Goal
Write a list of things you believe in and cross out things as you prove them wrong. If you find one that feels like it can’t be proven, it just means you’re still clinging to some beliefs you aren’t willing to let go of. Break out of that prison and prove that belief wrong.
