What To Say To Someone In Grief

When someone loses someone they love they lose a little part of themselves. They seem broken. We want to fix them. We wish to say something that will help them mend their broken heart.

There are certain things that just don’t help. Then there are things that just really open the heartbroken’s eyes. Here are some of the gems.

1. The Lord has a plan for us all, and His plan was to murder your loved one.

2. God must have had a reason for ending the life of that person you cherished, maybe to teach you humility.

3. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Who knows why I’m still alive and your precious perfect baby girl is dead.

4. Your loved one will be waiting for you in heaven because that’s what we do after we die, we wait for our loved ones to die like vultures with little harps.

5. They are probably looking down at you right now, and when you sleep, when you take a dump, when you bathe, when you masturbate, when you have sex, when you put on your neighbors underwear and sing Unchained Melody…

6. God called them home because they were on earth too long, maybe not as long as some, but longer than others.

7. It was just their time. We all get out here with expiration dates and we just have to accept the end is sooner for some. It’s like God wound up some of us like wind up toys a lot and others He just gave it two turns and we even sound slower.

8. They were too good for this world and you and all the ice cream and puppies playing and sunsets and David Spade mustaches. It actually sucks super bad down here. It is so fucking disgusting and terrible that you should be glad your loved one isn’t here anymore. It’s a fucking dump down here. Life is completely meaningless and the world around us is harsh. In fact, I kinda wished I was dead too.

9. God must have needed another angel even though He could just make a new angel from scratch because He’s fucking God Q. Yaweh, but He would rather recycle some love of your life to make an angel.

10. God never gives us more than we can handle other than all the things that just shuts us down and makes us drink or try and commit suicide or over work or gamble or do drugs or be a zealous religious person or beat our living loved ones or drive while drunk or any other completely self-destructive behavior.

11. This too shall pass and the number two problem will become the number one problem and you will never know a world without problems.

Ok, good night.
