Artifact: Posiedon’s Trident

After Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon defeated the three Cyclops, they melted down their labrys, a double headed axe, and created three weapons: Zeus’s thunderbolt, Hades’ staff, and Posiedon’s trident.

The trident was in three parts because the sea represents a third of the world. It also represents the three kinds of bodies of water: sea, lake, and a river. It also represents the three kinds of drinking water: flat, bubbly, and coffee.

The trident has been lost over the centuries, but has been found over and over. The Roman Caesars found and lost it, Charlemagne found and lost the trident. Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin, and for a short bit, Elvis.

Elvis was smart, he actually destroyed the trident in 1970 when he found out Richard Nixon was using every federal resource at his disposal to get his hands on that trident to get permanent power.

He was so close, Alan Moore was able to sense the alternative timeline in his wizardly studies and wrote Watchmen comic based on his seering.

Elvis came and met Nixon on December 21st, 1970, the winter solstice. This is the day that whoever is in possession of the trident can become the Fisher King, spiritual ruler of the West. Elvis showed Nixon that he had melted the trident and stabbed himself in the side. Nixon looked at the wound with rage.

They covered up the meeting with some kind of deputizing Elvis as a DEA agent.

In 1977 Elvis passed away finally from his self inflicted injuries.

Both Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage married Lisa Marie Presley in hopes in finding the molten metal wound of her father and become the Fisher King. They both died of their insanity in their quest.

The Fisher King is what keeps the west alive, fertile, and spiritually healthy. If the Fisher King is injured, the land becomes a barren wasteland.

Now there is no Fisher King to keep the land from becoming dead and corrupt. Until the staff of Hades or the lightning bolt of Zeus is found, there is no leader.

God has left this place long ago to our own devices. The east and the west wrestle for power while man wrestles man for crowns. The goddesses are all caged. The trident is somewhere in Graceland, but no one can get to it.

A long time ago, a blind centurion stole Posiedon’s trident from Rome and escaped to Judea where sensing the world’s pain emitting from Jesus’s lips, he punctured Jesus’s abdomen to hurry his death.

Know, dear reader, you have no masters or leaders. You are free. Elvis has freed this world of one of its key bearers by sacrificing himself. We have existed on the premise that someone holds the relic and has power over all of human’s domain, but alas, the King is dead.
