On January 11th, 2016, I started a daily practice of writing a joke meditation of the day called Cracked Pot and Meditations. I was still recovering from the treatment of cancer, and I was having very challenging cognitive issues, so I chose just to put something simple and easy to write every day. Posting it to the blog allowed me to have some accountability. Some of those meditations were poorly written and unedited. I have gone back and begun editing these and adding an illustration, starting with the April 27th meditation. I hope you enjoy.

Meditation for May 21st

Part II

Just Stop

Just stop having negative thoughts. Don’t think those dark and moody visions—just don’t. Think positively. If you start to think negative thoughts, stop and then start thinking positive ones. Thinking positively is all you need to heal.

Just stop being depressed. Just get up out of that bed and be happy. You have everything you need and even have some things you want, so now you can stop being depressed. If you don’t like being depressed, then stop it—only people who enjoy being depressed stay depressed.

Just stop being sad about that sad thing that happened in your life. It happened already. Are you trying to bring everyone else down? Just forget about it—it happened so long ago, so you can get going with the rest of your life. If you have one foot in yesterday and a foot in tomorrow, then you are taking a gigantic wet plopping dump on today.

Just stop believing in changing the system. It’s wrong. It’s not going to pan out. Stop wanting the world to be a better place and wishing for an impossible utopia. Just settle for the more popular status quo. Just be OK with how the world is. What you believe is nice in theory, but it’ll never work out. Here are some Huffington Post, Vice, Medium, and Buzzfeed articles to prove my point. Stop wanting things to be perfect and settle for just slightly broken.

Just stop taking Western medicine. It is just a pharmaceutical corporate plot to take all your money and keep you under mind control, don’t. You wouldn’t have had cancer if you had eaten differently, lived differently, or had rubbed THC butter on your balls. Just stop doing chemo and do a sage smudge and some acupuncture.

Just stop being all bummed that you are a woman, gay, person of color, handicapped, poor or whatever else you seem to think gets in the way of success. Stop asking people to watch what they say. Just stop it. You can do anything you want as long as you like it. Just stop acting like you’re different. Just stop failing and succeed.

Just stop it and let it go. You don’t have to hang on to anything. If something bothers you, don’t fight it; let it go. Just stop wanting things to change for you. Just let it go. Turn it over. Let go and let God.

Prayer

God.

Just stop your games.

Not talking to anyone but Christian ministers, politicians, terrorists, and people with schizophrenia is confusing.

Putting dinosaur bones in the earth to test our faith is childish.

The promise to end the world and cause a great battle between good and evil seems excessive.

The second coming had indeed been put off awhile.

The causing 9/11 to punish us for letting people be who they are because your creation skills suck.

Drowning New Orleans because we started to let gays marry seems like you also hate poor minority people.

Are you the only God? Or were you/are you competing with other Gods?

Just stop.

Just use the omnipotent thing and come down in a dazzling display of your powers, and tell us what is what, and we’ll listen. The hiding and using games and trivial signs to sway our faith seems not a good use of God like power.

Just stop and show yourself, Fucker

Amen.

Craft

Make a list of things you need your loved ones to change and give it to them.

If they love you, they’ll change for you.

Goal

Stop it. Just stop it.
